Amergis Behavior Technician - ST in Los Angeles, California

Overview: We are currently seeking a dedicated and adaptable Floater/Fill-In School-Based Behavioral Technician to join our team. As a Floater/Fill-In Behavioral Technician, you will provide crucial support to students with behavioral needs across various school settings. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students while gaining valuable experience in the field of behavioral health.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with behavioral challenges, as directed by the supervising behavioral specialist.

  • Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and strategies designed to promote positive behavior and academic success.

  • Assist students in developing and practicing coping skills, social skills, and emotional regulation techniques.

  • Monitor and document student behavior, progress, and responses to interventions.

  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other school staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support as needed.

  • Flexibly adapt to different school environments and student populations as assigned.

  • Communicate effectively with team members, parents, and caregivers regarding student progress and concerns.

  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in behavioral health.

    Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working with children or adolescents with behavioral challenges.

  • Knowledge of behavior management techniques and applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.

  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing schedules and assignments.

  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support students in achieving their full potential.

  • $20/25/hr
