Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Rehabilitation Nurse responsible for assistingpatients in attaining and maintaining Amergisum function dueto chronic illness and/or adebilitating injury. They assist the patient intherecovery process,as well creatinga recovery plan withthe ultimate goal to achieveas independent lifestyleas possible.

Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge andclinical skills necessary to provide care for people with physical disability and chronic illness

  • Coordinates educationalactivities and uses appropriate resourcestodevelop and implementan individualized teachinganddischarge planwith patients

  • Monitorspatient during rehabilitation and therapy to determine theirprogress and make necessary adjustmentsas needed

  • Coordinatesnursing care activities in collaboration with other members of the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team to facilitate achievement of overall goal

  • Contributes to a safe and therapeutic environment andsupports activities that promotethe patients' return offunction andprevent complications or chronic illness

  • Sets patientgoals for independent functioningandactivities of daily living

  • Teaches patientsthe most effective methods to recover strengthand regain health

  • Provides rehabilitationeducation for the orthopedic, spine, neuro, stroke,cardiac, and oncologypatient on safeand effective use of medicalequipment, proper body mechanics, mobility, transfer,ADL s, and homesafety

  • Involvedinongoing teaching withthe patient and their familiesregarding home care and additional therapy on an outpatient basis

  • Performs medicationadministration

  • Provides personalcare, dressing wounds,tracheotomy care andcollected specimens.

  • Performs other dutiesas assigned/necessary

    Qualifications:

  • Current activeRN permit inthestate of assignment

  • Current CPR certification

  • Certified RehabilitationRegistered Nurses (CRRN) preferred

  • Completion of an accreditedschool of nursing program resulting in an Associate Degree, Diplomaor Baccalaureate degree innursing

  • Abilitytoeffectively elicit/provideinformation to and from appropriate individuals(including, butnot limitedto,supervisors, co-workers, clients)via strong communication skills;proficiency intheEnglish language may be required

  • Computerproficiency required

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
